GET IT DONE ON THE JOB
- Who's the person most qualified to perform a particular job?
If you wanted a surgeon and all else being equal, wouldn't you want the surgeon who has
actually performed the surgery the most times successfully? The workplace isn't any
different. The most qualified person to fill a job is somebody who has
already performed that job.
- Volunteer for more difficult and responsible assignments
particularly if those assignments are similar to those required in your promotional
opportunities.
- Get the job done and get it done right the first time.
Consistency and effective work performance are valued by all supervisors.
In addition, even if the assignments aren't directly related to your promotional
opportunities, volunteer and build your management's trust and confidence in you.
That trust and confidence will earn you more opportunities to perform the necessary duties
and knowledges.

your successes.
